1L Stress Management Program

Stress is a fact of life in law school and in the legal profession. 1Ls can learn the psychological and physiological signs, and how to turn stress to their advantage. This sessions is introduced by Assistant Dean for Student Services Charlotte Taylor, followed by a presentation on meditation by Professor Marjorie Silver. Mark Goidell, veteran Garden City litigator and Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association (NCBA) Lawyer Assistance Program (LAP) Committee introduces LAP services and discuss some common issues and concerns the program deals with. Mr. Goidell is no stranger to stress, his client list includes Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, security guard Richard Jewell, exonerated of the Atlanta Olympics bombing, and Burke Ramsey, brother of slain child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey. The sessions will conclude with a presentation by LCSW Christa Schorn, the Law Center’s Counselor-in-Residence.
